5 Character Details
Dwarven Lady Cleric of the 20th circle.
5.1 Why Europa?
Interesting question. Probably because the name was obviously screaming "HI WE'R A EURO GUILD". More seriously, I lurked on P99 forums and on the Facebook group of my old EverQuest guild and most people pointed me to Europa as being an euro, friendly, and serious guild.
5.2 Personality
I am a 33 years old French-spanish computer science teacher who lives in Germany. So I basically can speak French, English, Spanish and German, in that order.
I also happen to be happily non married to a German woman and am a father of two little girls, one being indeed very little.
5.3 Experience
I started EverQuest when Kunark came out. I was at this time more into pen and paper role playing game but I was "forced" by Cyrielle who bought me the game and paid for the first couple of month. When Velious came out I moved on the fresh Vazaelle and played up to 60 for the 1st time. I have been Elindra in Caer Cadarn up till when Gates of Discord came out. That was probably my most hardcore years, raiding up to 10 hours every days for a couple of years, through Velious, Luclin and Plane of Powers. Afterwards I tried the Sullon Zek adventure on a druid but only levelled the character. I also took tried Sebilis (the GOA French server) where I was Chalom (Cleric) in Justice Divine for a few weeks but EQ didn’t have the same feeling any more and I gave the character to a friend.
As for the rest it would take a whole book to go into the details, seriously. I played pretty much every single occidental MMO since EverQuest and a couple of Asian.
A good deal of DAoC, City of Heroes (rest in peace) to the bones, WoW top end both PvP and PvE for several years, Guild Wars one and two, Conan, Warhammer... seriously the list is just too long.
Nearly a year ago, bored or unsatisfied by pretty much everything on the market; a couple of friends and I started again on Live EverQuest. We made it from 65 to 95+ on several characters but it wasn’t the same feeling. Mercs, defiant gear, instances, free rez, fast travel, class balancing... a lot of features that had driven us away from many modern MMO were now in EQ. So here we are on P99.
5.4 History on P99
I played Moustach ! As you may know since I posted a thread earlier this month, we started on P99 just my brother and I. After brainstorming for a while, posting here and reading your not-up-to-date Class Desirability post we went for Druid/Rogue, the rogue being very needed and the druid, well, sort of “ok”.
But since few friend joined us in our vintage adventure we ended up with Rogue (Cuir), Necro (Vener), Warrior (Cyrielle), Enchanter (Bomboclot) and my druid. Basically we couldn't do much without recruiting a cleric.
After a few evening of ghetto fear kiting, necro/druid healing and terrible experiences with bad clerics. I decided to take the bullet and roll a cleric.
5.5 Playtime
Like I said earlier I am a father with a full time job. That doesn't leave many openings or flexibility.
I can set 3 evenings (one of them being Sunday because my girlfriend watches Tatort! German people will understand) when I can play from roughly 8pm to midnight Paris time. Otherwise I have some junk playtime here and there, sneaking off family on the weekend or login from work at lunch break but nothing very reliable.
5.6 Goals and motivation
Community, give and take, having fun in raids, failing CH rotation, being yelled at, talking about good ol'times when we were 14 years younger and had more hair and less hairs. You know, the usual stuff.
5.7 Communication
Like I said people form Caer Cadarn and from the forum pointed me at Europa.
I also met a few of your members ingame. Nareem who cracked up my ass a bunch of times, Loustik (who is his main?) with whom we already grouped a lot, Verdir who ported all of us to where we had to go, Charmante (main?) who I talk to quite often, Powtle who rezed us I think 12 times so far un Guktop and Jeancharles who PLed me a bit and twinked up our butts a big time, our own victories in gear so far being Patchwork armor crafting...
