That's the point where my understanding of collectors fails. Why on earth would you buy some item only to leave it in the original package? Might as well hang a picture of the box on your wall then...Sharik wrote:In original package!

Actually, i was pointing at the crucifix like a symbol of hope, faith and pray, that's why the need to handle it, or worshipping it by kneeing in front of. (Not that i'm defending or supporting the church ...just talking about the concept of symbol).slozem wrote:That is about the worst comparison I have heard in months.Nabyha wrote:The "picture of the box" theory fails as much it fails regarding every "symbol" in our world ... from crucifix to the teddy bear a little girl sleeps with.
A crucifix is a symbol used to oppress, indoctrinate and addle the masses. And a picture of a crucifix would / could serve the same purpose, much like symbols all over the world.
A teddy bear is an item that is actually *used*, and a representation of a living being, and the sensation of touching it is an absolute key experience that a teddy is all about :p
Don't you ever have a go at my childhood again! :p
